Adobe Joins the Valuable 500 Movement to Put Disabilities on the Business Leadership Agenda
Disability inclusion is on the agenda at the World Economic Forum this week, and Adobe is honored to highlight our commitment to unlocking the potential of individuals with disabilities by joining The Valuable 500. This movement is a call for 500 influential business leaders to ignite systemic change for the 1.3 billion people living with disabilities around the world.
At Adobe, we believe that everyone deserves equal treatment and opportunity regardless of disability, gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, cultural background, religious beliefs, or anything else that makes us who we are. When people feel appreciated and included, they can be more creative, innovative, and successful. We call this vision Adobe For All.
Our commitment to advance the experience of people who have disabilities — both visible and invisible — includes three core focus areas:
- Recruiting more employees from the disability community. We have invested in partnerships with DisabilityIN and Project Hired to advance our efforts to attract candidates with disabilities, and we will continue to build on this momentum.
- Supporting our employees with disabilities through the AccessAdobe employee network. This network provides employees with support and a sense of community across a wide array of disabilities. We will continue to grow this network as well as investing in necessary accommodations to ensure all employees can fully contribute in our workplace.
- Improving the accessibility of our products and the work created through our products by building accessibility into Adobe’s Common Controls Framework (CCF). We are helping to lead industry progress in inclusive design through collaborative research with the Centre for Inclusive Design. We are also advancing Adobe’s efforts to implement inclusive design by delivering in-person training to all Adobe Design staff worldwide and will release our training materials to the public so all companies can more effectively design with disabilities in mind.
We value all individuals and the contributions they make to both our company and society, and we are honored to be part of this important initiative. We look forward to collaborating with other industry leaders to have a meaningful dialogue, share best practices, and drive progress forward.
There is a lot of work to do, but The Valuable 500 cross-industry movement is a big step in the right direction.
