Adobe Partners with the Red Cross on Missing Types Campaign
How we’re supporting life-saving work, one missing type at a time.
During the summer months, many people take a break. What doesn’t take a break, though, is the need for blood.
Each summer, the American Red Cross sees a decline in blood donations — but no matter the season, someone needs blood every two seconds. Even a slight drop in blood donations can have a major impact on the health and well-being of millions — because while donations may slow, the need for all types of blood doesn’t.
Adobe is proud to join the Red Cross again this summer to support their “Missing Types” campaign. This campaign is designed to raise awareness about the need for blood donations by helping people see what it would be like to be missing the A, B, and O types.
How Adobe is helping with Missing Types
We’re thrilled to support this important cause. It extends our ongoing partnership with the Red Cross and is in service of its important mission: preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies. Here are a few ways we’re supporting the campaign, with opportunities for you to join in.
Create. We created a font exclusively for the campaign. The font, “Surce Sns Missing Types,” reflects the missing blood types, A, B, and O, replacing those missing types with a blood drop. Creative Cloud users can activate the font via Adobe Fonts (it’s also available for free download here).
Share and Post for Good. Spread the word on the importance of donating blood by sharing this remixable Spark Post using the hashtag #MissingTypesxAdobe. For every post on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag, we’ll make a $10 donation, up to $10,000, during the campaign.
San Francisco Giants Fans. As part of our partnership with the San Francisco Giants, we’ll be getting the word out during select games in June — we’ll have behind-home-plate signage viewable to TV audiences. The signage will drive fans to learn more about how they can get involved with the campaign.
Community. Our commitment to being involved in our community and to move this cause forward is unwavering. Adobe employees continue to give of their time and their talents to create positive change, and with this campaign it’s no different. We’ll be asking employees to roll up their sleeves — literally — with the chance to donate blood at a number of drives throughout the summer.
By amplifying the Missing Types campaign, we can, together, spread the word and drive increased blood donations year-round.
To join, share your support on Twitter or Instagram using #MissingTypesxAdobe to raise money to support the Red Cross and/or visit a donation drive near you.
